Comment by messerschmitt:
hi Erin

actually there is not to say to much about processing or anything
i really have minimal knowledge of processing techniques
here i used this layer its not that spectaculair as u see

personally i experienced sofar its easier to work with a rather dull layer like this with a flat and medium lighting
the sparkle just has to come from the bringing the two together
i used this layer a lot sofar and it always comes out kinda different so thats fun
i imagine its better or easier to look for an image to fit a texture than the other way around
the image to fit the layer i find mostly something useful with in them large sorta empty and bare planes with not to much of details that might matter to the scene in it
also highlights and even bleached out skies (what a bless) mix wonderul with most (flat)textures i found
so on this particular image i blended the layer as shown into the simple scene and i erased most of the part where it covered the 3figures so dont loose the expressions in the bodylanguage wich is the better part here in this scenery i figured
thats about all
i like simple edits wich is an advantage being lazy
hopefully my blabla is little helpfull to u
but like i said i dont feel like an expert or even close and i realize there are million ways to approach this whole layer thingie

goodluck
