Summer Heatby glad2badadComment by skief: 7 - Colors and even the blown out highlight look good. I'm just not sure about the flying bee, it is almost dead center, drawing our attention, although it doesn't have enough detail to really keep the attention. |

Summer Heatby glad2badadComment by Jeileen: Interesting picture. Definitely creative. I think that you should have cloned out the green in the background to a white. Great detail on the flower and bees. Second time around - upping the score to a 7. |

Summer Heatby glad2badadComment by rwouthuis: I really like the idea of this shot ... I'm afraid that I find the image to be overexposed and the brightness takes away from the main focus of the image. |

Treetop Stepsby glad2badadComment by pcody: One of my top scores, a sure indication of it failing at mass appeal! I thought the flare added a lot to the picture and helped me think back to the summer days of scorching heat and going to my favorite hideout to play with my friends. I have a good monitor that shows the whole grey scale so this looks a bit washed out. |

Treetop Stepsby glad2badadComment by glad2badad: Hmmm...I may have to stop experimenting. ;^) I took this shot using the camera timer and placing the camera on the ground facing up the tree to get the perspective. The mosquitos were killing me while I waited!
This treefort is still a work in progress and belongs to our oldest.
As for the shadows - I lightened up the underside of the fort a bit for those with monitors that are a bit dark. Some details I thought would be ok, too much would be distracting as the underside of the fort is quite unattractive.
I was hoping that the viewers eye would be naturally guided up the tree, and not so much emphasis on the actual treefort itself. Oh well, on to the next challenge. ;^) Thanks everyone for the comments. |

Summer Heatby glad2badadComment by Jutilda: I love how you combined movement with the macro. Love the colors. Nice angle to the shot as well. 8 |
