Stubborn!by glad2badadComment by glad2badad: Who are "they"? What were YOU looking for? I'm guessing that you felt this didn't meet the challenge as a Personification? In what way? I'm not trying to be spiteful, just trying to encourange something a little more tangible. Sounds like you are commenting based on what others think you should say and not what you think personally. ;^)

To say this is a simile was reaching a bit and putting extra words out there that didn't exist, IMO. ;^)
Quite honestly, 'stubborn as a nail' never crossed my mind. 'Bent out of shape' did. Stubborn in this case (single word) was meant to portray the human trait of stubbornness (or creating a personification) in that the nail was being stubborn - not wanting to go into the wood - resisting...

Stubborn!by glad2badadComment by LevT: nice image, however without the title it does not really convey the notion of stubborness. Perhaps a different angle, and DOF could do the trick. |
