The border is unnecessary -- the wrong color anyway. A straight black or white would have worked better, I think.

Love the *pop* of color provided by the carrots. I would have preferred a greater DOF and find the out of focus food, especially in the foreground distracting

Not quite as effective as it could be, the narrow center focus field is more of a distraction than a focal point of interest. The overall appearance of this image seems rather bland. While the color combinations are interesting, the lack of depth and dimension are a negative and could have been handled more effectively. A better idea might have been to use a more focused approach and concentrate on the meal ingredients and the foil itself as the plate in the foreground is diametrically opposed to the title and subject matter.
