Personally, I could never balance my family and photography on outings. Try as I might, I would get distracted and do one of two things: I would linger too long while everyone else wanted/needed to move on or I would run away and leave them all behind wondering where I went! ADHD + family outings = me in doghouse! good luck!

Great image! I like the main tree trunk from lower right, and the way the canopy of that particular tree is (mostly) separated from the others.

I like the simplicity, I'd like to see more contrast though... and maybe more outward lean on the pencil. It's only slightly blurry, which is reminiscent of motion blur rather than shallow DoF. Nice photo.
