This is a really nice image for this challenge. Looks like the world at your finger tips. Your image is very well executed and perfect for this challenge, I like the stretching of your arms and the long shadow.

Comment by Barroness:
The monochromatic coloration is beautiful against the lighting and slight bokeh background. I wish this wasn't so centered but I still like it a lot.

Oops. I hadn't really expected follow-up comments from the forum thread to show up here. Thanks for taking a look.

I'm embarrassed to say that this photo was more of an outtake/shoehorn than one specifically shot for this challenge.

We happened to be at an interesting location, and I'd taken a handful of photos during our visit (including the one I used for Architecture - which WAS intentional).
I loosely based my 'go ahead and use it' criteria on the three primary groups of people. Do they match/balance to scale? No. I just found it interesting. Although, when I pulled this up on my calibrated monitor, I nearly gasped at how bad I'd mangled the post-processing on it using my laptop! :-}

I also agree with your assessment that a slight crop would have helped. A 5:4 ratio in place of the 4:3 ...

Cropped from top and bottom to remove the (almost) negative space, this picture would have more visual balance. Of course that's just MY opinion:)

In regards to your 'photographer's comments....

what do you stand to lose by letting those bots scrape your 'data' from this site? I think fighting data mining on the interwebs is futile as long as you are a participant in any of it, including your web-provided email. Every service provider you interact with is scraping data on you and selling it to the highest bidder. Your phone and your social media accounts are the main culprits. The simple fact of the matter is that you should not share anything electronically in any manner that you don't want anyone else to see or hear.

In regards to your forum post about the interpretation of the 'balance' topic...

The platform in your frame does a great job of splitting the frame into two equal halves, but *I* find a majority of the visual interest to be in the top half of the image. That being the case, the description of 'so that everything in the image has equal visual weight' is a miss for me. How do you interpret your approach to this challenge?

Cheers!
