Day 6a: The Jump... offby ValdoComment by acrotide: Perhaps a shallower DOF would have blurred the background a bit. I do like that you managed to stay in the frame while jumping. Wonder how many times you tried it :) |

Day 6b: Cooling off after the jumpby ValdoComment by Melethia: I like this - very contemplative, like you're thinking about whether it was a good idea to jump off rocks or not. :-) I don't mind the "harsh" light - most of our lives on sunny days is spent in harsh light and you've dealt with it quite nicely, I think. |

Day 6a: The Jump... offby ValdoComment by Melethia: From your description, you know the things to look for, and you went for it despite not finding those things (better light, less clutter, etc). I like that. We don't always have the perfect time or the perfect background - sometimes you just have to take the shot anyway! |

Day 6b: Cooling off after the jumpby ValdoComment by rjkstesch: I like this shot. After looking at it a bit, I noticed the vertical is off a bit. There are some great tutorials under the Learn that help with straightening photos and contrast masking (a way to help edit when the difference between the lights and darks are too big.) |

Day 6a: The Jump... offby ValdoComment by Jutilda: You look like Powers Booth here!!! I have issues with shutter lag too, or I have it on th self timer and run or jump before of after. LOL That's called photog error. ;~D |

Day 6a: The Jump... offby ValdoComment by rjkstesch: Good strong jump. You're right about the background. Two possiblilities: 1) Use your DOF to blur out the background. 2)Take the shot from another angle to provide a better background, ie: camera on the ground looking to the sky, camera on the side/back of you, etc.
Moving the camera to a different angle may also help get the shadows where you want them - it won't make them softer though.
Tomorrow, I'd like to see a smile. ;-) |
