Not just another picture of a bridge! Great combination of elements - all of the lights, and yet the space is principally dark. I'd be interested to know some of the tech stats for this shot (f stop etc)

I like the colours. It's nice to see gold and some pastel overtones in a night shot, instead of the usual orange that everything seems to come out. Unfortunately it's a little soft for me. Some USM would help a lot, and also some curve adjustment for real black in the shadows. Possibly cropping could also be improved for a better composition, instead of the centred view. I'd crop out the left and top to put the opera house at the rule-of-thirds point. Also, yes, the boat trails could be cloned out.

I like the star effect for something different, and the water reflections are amazingly soft, which is a great look. Nice capture, and with a few little changes, this could be a really great shot!

i find the star effect is distracting, especially the one closest to the opera house (the one with a long trail that went all the way to the bottom of the photo). there are not enough details on the background buildings except for the light they emit, and for that i think that maybe cropping them off completely might have been a better choice, which also puts more emphasize on the opera house. also, the moving ship's light trail at the bottom of the image could be removed as well.

i actually liked the angle where this was taken - refreshing compared to the other opera house shots i've seen on postcards.

for me I'd rather see the house in the bottom corner and being able too see more of the city, from this vantage point it would be good to put a bit more perspective on it. So perhaps a crop. Perhaps it looks a very small touch contrasty as well. Rather unique view thou & I liek the movement in the boats. Good One
