A Duck in Bear Lake, Rocky Mountain National Parkby paganiniComment by Brad: Nice subject matter for a shot. Here's what I see needs improvement:
The horizon is dead-center for one - this hurts an image as the eyes don't know if they should go up or down. The trees are a bit harsh on contrast and could use adjustment in the saturation brightness area. Hope this helps. ((5)) |

A Duck in Bear Lake, Rocky Mountain National Parkby paganiniComment by Skip: wow, what an image. i hope that the viewers are giving this one enough time to take it in, and not just blowing by it. i think you might be hurt by the horizon so evenly splitting the image in half. the water is so still that everything seems to be running together. if the duck is actually the subject, you probably would have done better to compose in such a way to accentuate it, as opposed it being virtually hidden. good luck in this and the challenges yet to come! |

A Duck in Bear Lake, Rocky Mountain National Parkby paganiniComment by SandyP: There it is again -- my favorite place on the planet. I won't mark you down for jealousy, but it's tempting :) :) (Just kidding) I have some picutres a lot like this at this exact spot: in sunset. In snow. In the beauty of summer. But I never tire of looking at it again. It looks like just maybe it was taken too mid-dayish because it might be a little bright, but I still love the picture anyway! |
