I think this could be a good candidate for b/w conversion. There are barely colors in the photo anyhow. My impression here is not one of stillness. There are many conflicting lines and curves in the picture. Jagged lines are usually a style element of change and dynamic. the photo is too busy to create create the emotion of still ness. Did you try a different angle and a tight crop aroung the center circle and the rock?

Interesting shot. Wall by staircase seems blown out and the reflection on the black areas make the whole shot seem soft IMHO.
