For me, the strength of this shot is in the muted tones. The subtle desaturation you chose fits the shot nicely even though it may not be completely DPC friendly. 10 from me.

I like this photo a lot! Great exposure.
I do think you need either a little more lamp or little more human. Right now you are not quite equal, with a bit more lamp offsetting the photo.
I think it would be best to bring the lamp back a few inches, and include just a lil' more human so that the space between them is in the center of the photo.
I do think it would also work to have unequal amounts of one subject or the other. It would just need to be 2/3 of one and 1/3 of the other.
