Having a 10 year old boy I almost did a shot like this for this theme and also for sports. I wasn't gonna use so many toys (or are these D&D figures) though. This is a quite busy and the DOF is kinda shallow so my eye doesn't have a resting point. I can't find a 'subject' so to speak. Also the large unfocused object in the foreground really is (IMHO) distracting....

I like your interpretation of life, but wish I had such a good vantage point! Great control of DOF really makes this photo. The fuzzy parts at the rear almost look three-dimensional.

Thanks for all the comments on this photo. I was hoping to get in the top 10 with this, but that's all right because from everyone's comments, it successfully represented the emotion it was meant to represent. I guess part of the success is this being real and not staged.
