Safariby tmhallingComment by mandyturner: *Critique Club*
I LOVE the colors! Very Nice!! I think that the lighting (contrast) is perfect too. Wouldn't change it at ALL.
There are a few things I would change. Is that a light pole? There is a really tall pole or something behind or infront of the tree on the right. I would have cloned that out. I also would have cloned out the bridge in the background. It is a nice bridge...but doesn't say wild safari to me.
The trees and the coloration of the sky combined with the sunset scream safari to me though. Reminds me of the beginning of The Lion King movie. Can you tell that I have small children?
As far as the compostion goes, I think that you did a fine job. I held up a piece of paper and "cropped" off some on the left side where the negative space is. My thoughts were..."nope, looks better like it is!" With the negative space gone the picture looks too centered and boring.
The sun looks a little strange. I guess because I expect it to be a circle. Not sure how the two bumps on it happened....it was just something I noticed.
Overall...I like the photograph! It is very pleasing to look at. It makes me wonder is the person on the bench a photographer or a hunter? Maybe they are waiting for someone? Who knows? Besides my few little suggestions I think that you did a very good job. Good Luck in future challenges. Please let me know if you think that I am way off base.

With 10 year old children being members on this site, I think a more mature and socially accepted image could have been entered. Perhaps concentrate on the quality of the photo, lighting sharper focus improved backgrounds etc.

10-year old kids have access to TV too and the parents decide if they're too young to watch "Psycho". Personally, I love the idea and think you have a very creative entry. Congratulations! I love the work with the shadows, and the cowering position you have the spoon and fork taking.
Really, take some of the "odd" comments as outliers. Some folks just troll around with their heightened sense of morality.....eh? |
Thanks. I take most like it with a grain a salt. This time I got a little peeved. I appreciate your comment. |
