X's & O'sby ace flymanComment by saiphfire: I love the bridge... I wonder if they did the XOX on purpose. As for composition, I think it would have been better to show the road after the bridge rather than in front b/c it sends the message that you are travelling past the bridge, not just to it (you could have done it by taking the picture from the other side of the bridge)... it's a matter of personal preference, I guess. Also, I would not have cropped off the top of the bridge, although that's minor. |

Flashby ace flymanComment by Skip: i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image to try to figure out what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.
great take on the challenge! love the '30's p.i. feel this has. when i think of portraiture being an effort to capture the essence of an individual, i think this most definitely hits the mark. great work! good luck! |

X's & O'sby ace flymanComment by utro: very cool bridge. I never know if i would like something better without a crop. In this case, the top could have been shown and I may have liked it better, but how am I to know since I haven't seen it. I'm rambling. I guess it's easier to judge what should have been cropped out as opposed to what shouldn't have been, so I'll just trust you did the right thing and say nice shot. :p

HO! HO! HO!by ace flymanComment by ace flyman: OK, had to comment on this alone....LOL actually, this was a good learning shot for me. 1st time trying to get a solid black background.
was in the very first stages of learning a little about photoshop 7. Now thats the only program I use. One more challenge will make it #20. I used this site for creative / learning purposes. Pretty OK with the average score. Now I believe the next 20 is not to just please myself, but make my shots more appealing to the majority. Lets see how it goes............
