I think you did this on purpose, but I didn't like the out of focus slice. I might have preferrred it had the slice been in focus and not the apple, if you really wanted to have a tiny DOF. If you had used a bit more contrast that might have helped as well.

Great composition and very strong triangles. I think that coverting to B&W would have made this a more powerfull image. The sky is a bit week as is. I feel in b&W the details in the wood would have stood out a bit more and with the sky toned down the subject would have poped out a little better. Great shot just feels a little unfinished.
