The lines of his shirt, the coffee-mate and sugar, the dark shadow under his arm, his tie etc. If you recomposed and drew in tighter to the coffee, leaving enough detail to show there's a guy wearing a tie, you could bring out a stronger message and in turn, make a stronger photo. |

Taking the kids for a walkby ssodellComment by The_Dentist: With some more post-processing, this could have been a hit: a channel mixer conversion to B&W for more contrast and punch in the background, a bit of saturation and a contrast bump on the geese, etc. An angle with the birds facing somewhat towards the camera would have helped as well, though I don't know if this was possible at the time :). Maybe also a lower point of view, from their eye level, and crop out the last bird, that cut in half anyway? |
