One reason this shot works so well is the superb capture of expressions. I also like the "shape" of the group players taken as a whole. The two raised players are so well captured mid-motion that there is a real element of wanting to look closely to understand what is happening. Well cropped to provide enough backrgound and to create a good composition. I really like this. And I don't even like sport!!!

The only thing I don't like about this is that the defenders hand is in the way of the receivers face. I would have loved to have seen the emotion on his face, but its not like this is something you could help ;)
