Comment by Donatien:
This is a truly fantastic image! The composition is perfect, nearly dead centered. The washed out skin tones, skillfully induced by the professionally setup muliple light sources and fine-tuned contrast during the post processing. Add to that the tasteful introduction of nipples that really helps adding interest and finally the pure well-focused detail of the player and excellent use of DOF. Magnificent!

Great photo, the light is just a little too bright on her cheek.

Ah, the pudenda glorified ! very difficult to find the implied lines, but such a lovely entry should not be held too liable to be literal in the interpretation of the challenge. Bumping up to 7 on artistic merit.

That's a very long set of eyelashes!

The palid flesh tones here make me a feel a bit unwell and for me this is a bit unpalatable to look at. The lines are perhaps implied but also very literal so overall this doesn't do it for me. Focus is too soft and background is a bit messy for a shot like this too.

Comment by RSBP:
Poverty doesn't just mean being "without money." The old are often rich with wisdom. His shirt looks new, not raggedy, and his basket isn't that torn and bad either. The typical person asking for such handouts in the US makes an average of $50 a day...some - in more affluent cities, make up to $500 a day.

I wish we could see more of his face, I think it would have had more impact.

What? I know this guy. He's one of Sony's executives. Every weekend he takes a basket of Sushi to the park to feed the pigeons. :-) Good shot.
