Life's Dichotomyby docpjvComment by Andre_P69: Difficult, the tip of the beak appears to be fuzzy. A DOF problem I guess. I also suspect this is a long lens shot. You really have to stop it down to get the DOF on long focal length lenses (recently found this one out for myself !). Also could you have brought up the right handside ? |

Puppy Love.by docpjvComment by Jinjit: This is so sweet and naive...
The worm tones work great for this one, and I just love those expresions. Something so adult in their faces, but also so young.
I wish there wasn't that tree in the background though. just a plain white background would do better IMO.
however, I'm afraid this is not the mob's cup-of-tea. It takes more then a split of second to look into this photo, and see it's depth.
People here don't have this time anymore...
Still, from me you get a 10. This one is so much more touching then dozens of kisses. |

Life's Dichotomyby docpjvComment by tinmason: I think 'stare down' would have been a better title for the image. I would have liked to have seen less depth of field to bring the beak into sharp focus with the head and to bring the feather line at the edges of the bird into focus adding a bit more detail. I also would have used the burn tool to darken the light area along the feathers on the upper right of the image.
area of the bird. IMO. All in all though, this is a very good image! I gave it a seven. |

Life's Dichotomyby docpjvComment by MadMan2k: Great focus and DOF, and I like the vivid colors and the lighting of the bird's eye. I had to look up that word to see what the title meant :P |
