At first glance I thought this was an extension of a stage and the guy was performing some type of act (e.g., comedy). I thought that it captures well the reaction and isolation of a performer who is just not connecting with his audience. I thought that this is truly when you really do hear the "sound of silence" and it can be deafening.

However, I think your photo has a similar theme and even though the person on the end of the pier isn't performing for an audience, he is hearing the "sound of silence."

i only wish that pier is not so iluminated but with 25 seconds exposure i don't know who to get rid of that, nevertheless excellent work
