I see a perfectly framed and cropped presentation of a stapler. Dof is great for this composition, monochrome maximizes the impact of the shot, some specular crud showing up in the lowest right corner just in front of the last bit of stapler hinge, but it does not in any way really invoke or imply technology to me. High marks for presentation, but a hard hit from the viewer who cannot make the leap to technology, mechanics yes, but not low tech.

Sleek and classy. Sharp and glossy. If I could see just a bit more of the base, perhaps a subtle, slim glimpse of glossy black, this would almost come to life. Wow! High impact photo.
