Mockingbirdby novaComment by madcrabber: What if you cropped of the top half and cloned out that top inrtuding branch leaving a more horizontal image? -7- |

Mockingbirdby novaComment by cresus: Beautiful picture...very well composed. The skyis not blown out and the exposure of the bird looks perfect. Very nice. |

Mockingbirdby novaComment by Kavey: Nice capture and I particularly like your composition. That use of negative space above works well and I do like that lone branch thrusting in from the left. Nice detail in the bird and the catchlight in the eye is just right. |

Mockingbirdby novaComment by Bear_Music: "I hate my verses, every line, every word;
Oh, pale and brittle pencils, ever to try
one grass-blade's curve, or the throat of one bird
that clings to twig, ruffled against grey sky!"

Servant's Quartersby novaComment by nova: Six months later I have come back to this image and considered the many comments both in favor of and opposition to the border I selected. With the passage of a little time I conclude that while I respect all opinions to the contrary, I think the border works and I'm glad I added it. Sure would have liked to top a "6" with this image, but that notwithstanding, I'm glad I submitted it as I did. Thanks for the comments. |

The Skateboardersby novaComment by Cutter: wonderful emotion and image all around. Even though not a skateboarder, I think I, as well as "we", can understand the emotions of all involved. And isn't that what candid photography, let alone all art, is all about? |

Safe At Firstby novaComment by Skip: nice capture, ray! yeah, we both know you were asking a bit too much out of that lens...i know of a mint condition 300mm f/2.8 that retails for $3700 that can be had for about a grand less--any interest?
it does appear that you did well with those who stopped long enough to comment; my guess is that the detail you lost from the cropping is what did you in in the end. valiant effort, though! |
