Yow - I dont know what you've done around that edge of that bird but it looks VERY post-processed. My guess would be over sharpening or perhaps you took something out of the background. Either way it distracts from an otherwise well laid out picture. 5 - floyd

Nice image that convey deep emotions. I like the colors and contrast. Nice use of negative space. However the image is a bit noisy and doesn't feel like a macro shot to me. If you cropped it to include the bottom 60% of the image, and used something like Neat Image to reduce the noise, I think it might be better and still convey the emotion.

love the idea, but not the lighting. i think you could find a way to shoot this so that the background comes out completely black. as is, it is somewhat distracting. also, i think it would work better either without the rings, or with the rings move up a bit (but defintely not cropped out).
