Eye of The Beholderby HornOUBetComment by HawkinsT: I think when photographing an object the frame should be set up to give maximum impact, perhaps showing the object in relation to its environment, or a close up for a more abstract feel. If it's a straight on shot then the photograph only becomes a lesser representation of the object featured and since this is a photography competition I can't give marks for just being shown an interesting object, sorry. |

Eye of The Beholderby HornOUBetComment by JohnFord: background is a bit busy, wonder what it would look like if you eliminated the background by shooting this a night with an off camera flash to the side, or did a long night exposure and painted light with a flashlight from the side so as not light the background -5 |

Eye of The Beholderby HornOUBetComment by Karlow75: That is an interesting tree. I think this needs a shallower depth of field (smaller f stop) to draw attention to it. I do like the composition of the shot. |

Sunset Facing Northby HornOUBetComment by RyanW: thats a very interesting cloud you captured there... looks like the displacement of someone doing a belly flop, which has me smiling at the thought of belly flopping into a cloud to make it go all wonky like that.
the pinkish/purple tones seem out of place to me, but overall the lighting feels very natural, so i'll go with the fact that this is how it looked in person.
thank you for still keeping your foreground exposed and not a black void.
a 6 from me. |
