I think this photo would imrpove by having a real focus, something eye catching to look at. Right now the colors and the objects are all too similar. Maybe you could have used two more different pairs of glasses, or one wacky pair (like the kind with a nose and mustache attached) and one more mundane pair.

A compelling photo which drives a hard point, however beauty is not readily apparent here. The eyes are a bit to deep into shadow and his coloration is a bit sallow.

Hmmm, I like the presentation and crop. Chopping the forehead and leaving shoulders prominent feels "right" to me. Something feels off to me though, maybe the shadows around the eyes and mouth? Not sure. Nice intense and serious portrait. Not sure I get your intention though with the title. Good job.
