Red Dragonby JackoComment by Kha0S: Wonderful colors in this... clear sky blue contrasts well with the vivid red of the dragonfly, and the flower balances it off with the rest of the spectrum. The DOF on this seems too shallow... the tips of the foreground petals, the far wings and tail on the dragonfly, and the far leaves on the flower are a bit too blurry for my tastes. If this shot were from head-on, the shallow DOF would emphasize the insect's face, but as taken, this DOF choice fails to pull my attention to a specific subject. |

Red Dragonby JackoComment by atsxus: I like it, but there's nothing in pure focus. There's the eyes of the Dragon Fly, and parts of the flower, but no one central point of focus, and it detracts from the beauty of this simple shot. Simple meaning simple beauty. Not in technique. |

Red Dragonby JackoComment by willem: The colors are great, very vibrant combination, reminding me of late summer. I have some difficulty with the composition, I would have preferred to see some more empty space to the left, so the dragonfly moves out of the middle. Maybe that would also have given the opportunity to get a bit more depth of field. |

Red Dragonby JackoComment by librodo: Is it a motion blur? Or a shallow DOF. Frankly, I don't care because the effect is stunning. Good shot! |

Red Dragonby JackoComment by hopper: awesome shot, looks like the focus just missed a little (it's eyes aren't the sharpest part of the photo). |

Red Dragonby JackoComment by asij: That´s a really cool shot!!
If only the DOF would be deeper and the tail of the fly would be sharper
Great colors.. |
