This has potential to be really funny. Granted I understand reasoning for the shirt and not labcoats. But I think maybe dark background with hair lights, Maybe a black plexi under the spill, and lots lots more suds/foam/overflow. Also think if the kids arms were not folded but reaching for, or flat palmed might give a stronger effect. Very Fun concept.

Critique Club Review:

Nice sharp focus on the subject. I really like the way the gold of the sun fades into a rose colored sky. A take without the tree present might increase the feeling of solitude. The way the umbrella gives a good strong silhouette, yet the fabric glows in the sun is great.

There is a little halo along the horizon, but what the heck. I think it adds to the mood of the piece, and the picture might not be as strong without it.

If there is anything that I would really change, it would be the border. It could be an optical illusion that the bottom is thicker than the top. I would have prefered a more symetrical border, personally.

I have no idea why anyone voted a 1-2-3 on this piece, even accounting for different tastes. Good job! (notice I did not say sir. ;-)

The sky is great and I like the composition. It looks like this has been processed carefully. I wonder what would have happened if you'd walked forward somewhat... I wish the trunk of the tree were visible!

Lovely sky and interestingly devoid terrain. The tree is barely discernable as a tree - without a scale reference, it might as well be a bush. Overall, a nice photo in search of a little more subject.

Tree (subject) is too small. Perhaps a rule of thirds crop and a longer lens would have helped?
