This picture started as a very good potrait. Composition and lighting are very good. However, I detect heavy spot editing on cheeks and nose that makes skin texture looking weird.

Great photo -- compostion, pose, expression. However the retouching on the skin could be better. I don't mean more, I mean better.

nice shot, but the blurring on the facial skin is really overdone.

looks like you tried to blur around the eyes.

Absolutaly wonderfull shot. However the eyes look overshapened and the skin looks a bit waxy. Great lighting, perfect composition.

Good looking guy you got here... Love the angle of the shot and the lighting...almost to much neatimage used though..makes it look like a young boy, which he isn't..This would make a fine portrait for a wall. Good luck.

Good contrast shot...although my first thought was Friar Tuck and not death. :-)

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Congrats on your second-highest placed image!

This is a well-deserved upper-5 shot. I personally gave it a 6 and I remember voting on this image. What struck me as very cool was the reddish-brown muted background behind the flower. I know it's a little weird to like a background better than the focal point in a still life but, hey, I was never known to be sane.

The flower itself is very beautiful and I feel that you have picked an appropriate angle on the flower. However there are a couple things that I feel do not work great. First off, I think that a little more breathing room on all sides of the photo is a good idea. The cropping, whether in- or out-of-camera seems al ittle bit tight and on such an airy and free image, I feel like the flower is being constricted. Secondly, the lighting seems a little harsh and unpleasant.

I agree that the water droplets add another dimension to the photo, as they always do, but yet I feel that the greenish reflections in them are a little bit unpleasing as well.

Besides some minor setbacks -- this is definitely an image to be proud of!

If you have any questions or comments feel free to PM me.

I like your crop on the hat and head, but I think the background is a little too overpowering. Your model is wonderful and I love the grainy BW texture.
