it's hard to see the object as a balloon in the image. perhaps framing the shot with the balloon larger in the lower left, and still including the landscape?

I like the concept of contrasting ideas--beautiful beach and trashy balloon. I would have liked to have seen a closer view of the deflated balloon so that you wouldn't have to tell us in the title, and you'd still have a beautiful shoreline background. :) Good luck.

The balloon didn't take up enough of the image. It also doesn't look like a balloon. Compositionally, you set the frame very nicely. It does appear a little too dark, though. As to the best composition, since the challenge was garbage, you need to show that better in your image. A nice cropping to leave the balloon and part of the wave would have been better. If that was too out of focus when enlarged, a shot or two at a closer vantage point would have given you a better choice of which image would have worked best.

Although this is a small vidcam, I think this shot falls shy of a macro image in my mind. Aside from this, the photo is well composed, and well lit. Though, the shadow from the lens cap on the words "Digital Video Camcorder" is slightly distracting. Overall: nice shot.
