This is such a strange, but interesting image. I don't really see what it is - and thus loose the "team sports" theme. The closest I could come is that it was a play diagram of some sort, but the red and yellow? And each dot is "x'd" out? Why not Xs and Os? I'm really lost. Good luck with the challenge.

I think your title really makes this photo. I would have had no clue as to what you were going for without it. It might have been better had you drawn a play, with arrows or something showing where players should go. Also, everything seems out of focus. The surface that the formation is drawn on seems odd. Maybe it's just weird lighting or something.
