I didn't have tunnel vision as a child but my parents realised I needed specs when I was about 4 or 5 when they kept pointing at the planes in the skies above the airport and I just couldn't see them. I actually remember getting very annoyed as I thought they were making them up.
Being somewhat interested in sight and lack of, I've seen a number of articles with photos such as this which are printed to try and show those of us with full vision what tunnel vision feels like.
Now, if this _isn't_ showing tunnel vision, then I am definitely confused :)

Interesting idea. Complete with eyelashes and all. I know what you were goinf for -- from the eyes of the child, but I think the photo would have said that without the actual eye, which detracted for me. 5, just-married
