Heading Homeby TerryGeeComment by jorel138: My father was a top pigeon "sportsman" and a reporter for a regional pigeon paper. Now that I'm 45, this is the sharpest "in flight" pigeon picture I have ever seen. Compliments. |

Heading Homeby TerryGeeComment by Alexys: Really, it meets the challenge. At the same time, focus is good, but the lighting is not the best. Try it in another time with more sun. |

Reflectionby TerryGeeComment by TooCool: From the Critique Club
Terry, once again I get the pleasure of critiquing one of your shots!
Photograph: This is a very nice shot of the bird. It's very easy to take a shot of a duck. It's not so easy to get a nice shot of a duck as well composed, going right where you want it, with the focus right on, and with such a nice reflection. Great detail in the feathers too! My only complaint (and it's a personal preference) is the shallow DOF. In this case your choice is probably better than mine would be. You have in focus all the detail you need for your message. I just happen to love the detail in the ripples in a large body of water.
Poster: You have a beautiful message and do a wonderful job of conveying it, both in photo and in text. I love the border that you chose here! Your choice of font color however is too close to some of the colors inherent in the waters reflections. This makes the text on the right side a little hard to read.
Overall: A very nice job of taking a message and presenting it in a poster type format!
Kudos

Heading Homeby TerryGeeComment by Dave Gordon: Beautiful capture, with sharp focus, perfect exposure and a background that is just out of focus enough to make the bird stand out. |

Sitting Prettyby TerryGeeComment by ellamay: Hi terry greetings and haappy new year from the CC, Well I like the perspective you chose for your shot, it is great to see things from the bottom up or top down for a change : )! I think this is a very well done shot, could use a little more space around it especially by the tail IMO. Could also use a bit more sharpening perhaps. But you have captures his eye and feather details very nicely. It is an uncluttered shot which is very nice also, just your subject, his perch and blue sky. I think you also met the challenge well. You may want to give a bit of thought to finding more unusual subjects? To help boost your score, just a thought I am trying to be critical...but with such a good shot it is hard. My overall feel is that you have a good grasp on technical aspects, maybe need to try being a little more on creative side. : )
keep shooting well done! |
