In The Glowby TerryGeeComment by jenesis: Nice lighting effect here. I would level the shot so the line across the bottom (edge of pot?) were level or crop it out all together. I like how the cactus fades into the darkness towards the back. |

In The Glowby TerryGeeComment by adine: The light catches the spikes so nicely. I think it would have more impast without the brown rim of the pot at the bottom. |

In The Glowby TerryGeeComment by KarenB: I don't like the edge at the bottom.. the flower pot?
the rest of the image has a great quality to it. the detail is lovely. |

In The Glowby TerryGeeComment by Ivar: Good picture! I would have cropped out that brown bit at the bottom, it is a bit distracting. |

Purple Rainby TerryGeeComment by carlacryptic: It's gorgeous - there's nothing like luscious color against a black background but this is framed beautifully as well... very dynamic. |

Heading Homeby TerryGeeComment by GeneralE: Excellent capture ... I've been practicing some shots like this recently and it's really hard! (Especially without so high a shutter speed or zoom factor or manual focus :( ) Congratulations on another top-ten finish. |

Heading Homeby TerryGeeComment by amsmyth: Greetings from the Critique Club:
There is very little I can say about this image other than that I think it's a terrific capture. I like the motion, the crispness of the head, eye, and beak, and the bird's color is very natural. The focus is good and you have gotten the feel of the beat of the wings and that wonderful "shoulder" motion. Thanks for the image. |

Sticky Situationby TerryGeeComment by TerryGee: just so it is known, it was my intention to blur out the foreground.
I could have easily just done one portion of the cactus as this was shot with the Sigma 105 macro. I went a different route(the wrong one).
As it turns out, I entered this without much thought, but had other shots taken that week which would have done much better...oh well. |
