Form and Flowby LeeDComment by pacpinto: This is a very good idea, and the execution is not so bad either. The model does come across as a bit uneasy, IMHO. The lighting is pretty good and the use of B/W adds to the "poetic" atmosphere that I'm sure you were looking to get. If this had made the challenge, I would probably give it a 7. |

Form and Flowby LeeDComment by hanneke: I really really like this concept, but I'd rather wanted the sheets to fit eachother perfectly. But, on the other hand, that's pretty hard to do.
Great lighting and B-W! |

Green on Blackby LeeDComment by Rikki: An amazing shot Lee! I love the saturation of the colors in this photo. The contrast between the almost black water and the green is wonderful and pleasing to the eye. the water is eerily smooth and works really well as a mirror to these magnificent trees. The "gothic glow", it seems, that you added as a filter to this image works well and suits the photo adding visual interest and depth ;) Great work! |

Tiny Handby LeeDComment by Rikki: This is a powerful and emotional image and I congratulate you for that. The use of sepia toning for this image delivers impact and strength that I think would otherwise get lost had this been a color photo. The fragility of life is depicted well and it triggers emotion. I like that in photos (again, just my personal preference). Although the image is a tad soft, it suits the photo and doesn't, in any way, affect the mood that this photo conveys. |

Blueby LeeDComment by Rikki: Here's my take on this image (of course take it for what it is). The "Cute" photo is a bit soft. The eyes are amazingly rich and wonderfully rendered. While the aim of this challenge is to provide a Light on White, I think you've exceeded it just a tad and as a result, had almost blown out some finer details. I think if you used curves then this image would pop. As it is, it's simple and meets the challenge. I would probably just prefer a bit more DOF. |

Welcome Homeby LeeDComment by jsas: My son was 5 weeks early also and in intensive care for 18 days, now he is 12 and growing tall/wild. I love this picture. It brings back emotions. I like the poem that Robert wrote too, I may write one also, just to remember my son and the things we went through. Thanks |

Welcome Homeby LeeDComment by LeeD: Poem by Robert Ward
Stephen
I cradled you in my palm at your frail birth
and prayed for God to keep me safe from harm,
that I might shelter you for all your years:
as my hand then, soon my encircling arm.
I studied your eyes. A tender philosophy
was there, already there, waiting for you to teach:
how in the smallest speck of sand there hangs
the world entire ΓΆ€” in everything the each.
My son, my love, let me propose this trade:
I pledge my strength to you, for all my days,
if you will lend me yours, that as you grow
I may relearn from you my childish grace.
Robt.
Thank you so much bear_music! |
