Nicely captured. But the eyes look a bit unnatural with the desaturation. Maybe the colour should have been a bit more subtle. Or maybe he really is a Fremen.

Why so sad? I like what you've done with the desat. Works well. This kind of photo is challenging in the sense that I can appreciate wanting to capture the emotion, but at the same time it makes me wonder when someone is obviously sad and distressed how can you take time to grab a camera instead of comforting the child? Personally, I wouldn't be able to take this photo. Obviously, JMO. :) Good luck in the challenge.

A great idea but IMHO the white light is way too bright. I think a subtle glow would have enhanced the mystery of this image.
