Bee on Hollyhockby kdkaboomComment by ahaze: Doesn't grab me, as it's a pretty common theme. To make something like this really pop there needs to be something about it that is unusual (or unusually beautiful) for this type of shot, whether it be in the light, what the creature is doing, etc. |

Bee on Hollyhockby kdkaboomComment by notonline: I find the problem with shooting flowers like this is either the white balance is off or the contrats is to high which makes it a little bit blurry. I think you might suffer from people sitting to close to the monitor and will see it as blurry. I like this shot and find the DOF chosen works well. The bee just adds so much more to it. I think this would make an excellent callender shot or just a standard picture to hang on a wall. Thats not achieved by many. Well done and keep up the great work in 2005. <8> |

Bee on Hollyhockby kdkaboomComment by SandyP: I don't usually like flower shots -- only because so many people have done them that they all blur together. But this one really draws you into it because of all the interesting elements. The focus is perfect, and the colors are awesome. Great job. |

Roscoe P Coltraneby kdkaboomComment by kdkaboom: Thanks for the comments!
I guess I should've kept the original title of Roscoe's NOSE to prevent any comments about his eyes/face being out of focus...but oh well! I appreciate all the comments no matter what!
And yes, to those that asked, that is his name and he's a serious hazardous Duke...you should see him full speed thru the apartment, fishtailin' and everything :)
Thanks everyone!
Katy
