Birds of prey are my favorite types of critters. This one looks so soft thanks to the clarity of the feathers. Nice capture. (I am glad that is his dinner not mine.)

There is definitely contrast shown with the subject being in shade/diffuse light and the background being blown. However the subject is in diffuse, even, soft light so there are no major highlights/shadows to show off the texture of the feathers.
