The roofs are interesting but the blue with almost nothing visible and the out of focus leafs are too big fraction of the whole picture.

If it were cropped tighter on the roofs then it would be busier and wouldn't have the distracting (but not really busy) out-of-focus foreground trees.

No, there's no compositing whatsoever, just a lucky catch. I'm still on the quest for a decent lightning shot...
oh wait, by effects do you mean that blurring? that's not PS either. Just a result of a long exposure handheld.
