The wax looks as if it has formed a butterfly shape. I like hit it is cool looking. The blue give the wax a ice feel and the fire a really hot feel like a blue flame from a blow torch. I like this very cool the reflection adds a draw to your subject as well. Nice work!

This is a great shot.
I think it probably didn't do so well in the Hands challenge because the hands aren't really emphasised. Maybe a lower angle from just underneath the hands, with less of the face in focus, so that the hands are given more importance, would have been better for this challenge.
But outside of the challenge it is a really nice photograph. Very expressive. In a portrait challenge it probably would have done very well.

You get points for the tack sharp focus, but I monotonal bg does not work well as bokeh.
