Keeping the uniform black background while getting the proper lighting and reflection could be difficult in this shot, but you did it well. The black rectangles (two to the lower-left of the flower and one in the lower-right corner of the image) were a bit distracting, though.

I'll give you the benifit of the doubt but it really looks like flame! Maybe colour adjustments could have fixed that for the challenge anyway!

A bit too centered and looks slightly overprocessed. I would leave some negative space on the right side of the frame and maybe a bit more at the top.

Good clarity and great color. Not much action IMO, would have loved to see this shot about a second or two later when the pitcher and runner made their move. Still a good picture.

A noce composition but the smoke takes on the look of fire, yet too dull. I would have gone with the white smoke. Bumping up on composition strength.
