Barleyby WinterbergComment by GeneralE: Must be getting pretty ripe to be bent over like that. Beautiful use of contrasting backgrounds to frame the subject. |

Barleyby WinterbergComment by notonline: I think this shot would make for an excellent calender shot. It has a good DoF and excellent clarity. Well done and keep up the good work in 2005. <7> |

Red Yellow Greenby WinterbergComment by aleksi: As a thumbnail one couldn't see the writing, but now it's obvious. Green doesn't have the intensity of the others and red is a bit dimmer as well, but idea is great and execution, while not perfect, supports it well. I especially like the caustics on the light and the fact you didn't use just simple paper. |

Barleyby WinterbergComment by snackwells: Difficult to do a better capture on a rather mundane subject. Love the juxtaposition of the heads of barley in the fore- and background. Excellent exposure. 7 |

Barleyby WinterbergComment by blemt: A classic stock shot. The power of grain! These are some of my favorite "farm" agriculture types of shots. You render this one very nicely. You have one major (what the heck do they call a single barley plant? ) barley as the main element, and have the rest of it faded out pretty well. I might have moved the lower barley to further isolate the to one. The biggest improvement that can be made here is more previsualization, and as a result more environment control. (ie. move the stalk of something (stalk! That;s the word I wanted) that moves at an odd angle, move the lower stalk etc.) Still a really cool shot. 8 |
