your future's in the bagby sidpixelComment by insteps: Really nice framing! The contrasting footwear, text on the bag, and the vertical line from pole to shadow of the leg make this very engaging. |

your future's in the bagby sidpixelComment by Nicht: This certainly is an interesting take on the challenge. It seems too much of a stretch for me. For me, a portrait needs a clear subject (and for environmental, the subject needs to be defined by the environment). For example, if this was on a hiking trail, then the hiking boots would define the front pair of legs as the subject and be the subject's defining feature.
Still, this is an interesting angle and an interesting piece of art. Not too much appealing to me (I wouldn't put this up on my wall), but interesting. |

neighboursby sidpixelComment by jomari: Fascinating. Tantalizing little glimpses that I can only begin to appreciate. This is the sort of shot that screams 'We need bigger'. |

Boudicaby sidpixelComment by sidpixel: What's even more disappointing than the low score is the unwelcome precedent of no comments at all, zero! I suppose thats what makes this site so appealing, you just never cease to be amazed at the reaction, or in this case, lack of. Ah well, back to the drawing board! |

golden decayby sidpixelComment by sidpixel: Originally posted by rooum: Lovely, got a 7 from me. Particularly interesting to see because i'm contemplating getting the DP Merrill 3 (and maybe the 1 to pair it with). I used to have the original DP 1 years ago and really liked it so have an idea of their operational limitations and also the image quality. These new Merrils look like amazing cameras. |
Do not hesitate in getting one Clive, they are quite simply stunning, but do be prepared to put up with the cameras many foibles and really slow down your image making but in my eyes that's no bad thing. As for the Merrill 1 that's exactly what I intend to do, once I have one I am seriously contemplating getting rid of the rest of my gear I am enjoying using this camera so much!
Thank you everyone else for your positive comments. |
