Snappy Crocodile Sandwichby DmaskezeComment by sfalice: Haaa, ha. Cute! Loved your idea! Wish whatever that background object is (his swamp?) wasn't there, um, yes, the knife could go too. But, more important, really, really super idea. |

Snappy Crocodile Sandwichby DmaskezeComment by bclements: Clever idea for a sandwitch. I found the background lamp distracting. Didn't know where this food placed. On the floor? Of course, it is an alligator sandwitch. |

Snappy Crocodile Sandwichby DmaskezeComment by CDS: Good focus on the subject. IMO: The background is kind of distracting. Maybe a tighter crop on the top of the frame would have helped. |

Snappy Crocodile Sandwichby DmaskezeComment by Pixelstate: Nice idea. If possible I recommend to try and avoid flash when taking still life shots like this. This looks like an 'on-board' flash and they are always quite harsh, they tend to cast strong shadows at this distance also. Try tripod mounting your camera and turning off the flash. Use natural daylight from a window, with maybe a sheet of white card as a 'reflector' opposite to add light to the shadows.
Very good effort. |

Man Down!by DmaskezeComment by hlswilson: Greetings from the Critique Club.
First of all. Excellent job on your exposure. I can see that you're shooting in strong sunlight and yet the boy's face can be clearly seen. Very well done. The shot is in focus and you were able to stop most of the action. The ball is a little blurry, but that was most likely the fastest moving object in the shot. The only thing that takes away from the shot, IMHO, is the line of the fence cutting the boy in the head. It's escpecially highlighted by the bright patch of sun in his hair. If you were on your knees when you shot this, you might want to consider standing next time. That will change the position of the line in relation to the boy. Play around with standing on a chair (if possible) or maybe lying on the ground to get some new angles. Lastly, I love the little puff of grass behind the boy in blue. Excellent timing. |
