Mallardby SteveJComment by Melethia: Very crisp, very clean - excellent detail! I like the little catchlight in the eye, too. |

Pride Before A Fallby SteveJComment by noraneko: I like the idea here a lot, and the title is great, as is the curve presented by the dominoes. I suspect technical issues brought you down - the white balance looks a little off here - there's a bit of a yellowish cast to the dominoes and a gray cast to background. There are also a few bits of dust/hair that you maybe could have cloned from the background, since this is advanced. Mainly, though, I think the shadows may have been problematic to some viewers (including myself). I did not think they were deliberately used to enhance the photo (though of course I could be wrong on this), but instead the result of uneven lighting (I'm guessing you used flash here). If you have a light tent, this would be an interesting study to try again, as you could eliminate the shadows. Anyway, just my .02, hope it is helpful! |

Pride Before A Fallby SteveJComment by GUTomek: i like the choice for depth of field and nice light reflection in the black domino holes. I would have cleaned up the fibers visible on the surface beneath. What are the metal things in those domino's, ive never seen them with those. |

Mallardby SteveJComment by Ann: The lighting and texture is good. With moving birds, it helps to frame the shot so that there's some extra space in front of the bird to give it some space to move into. Otherwise, it feels a bit cramped. |
