Steve, the idea is solid. Try adding another light or two to the sides to soften the shadows. Also try putting tissue over the flash or lamps (I use the kind you put in gift bags) to diffuse the light.

Also, it's worth learning the clone tool if your software supports it - the hairs on the bottom are distracting.

Heh - I noticed at least two folks thought that this looked like either exercising or gymnastics - I had similar thoughts. They look like they're doing backbends! Maybe a little plain in presentation and I think it would have been more striking on a more reflective surface and perhaps at an angle instead of straight across.
