Ewwww What a stink!by lytaComment by notonline: One of the least popular birds in my opinion and always uner rated. It is well composed and nice choice in DoF. It appears to be a little to oversharpened and looks odd against such a blured background (almost as if it were over-edited). The bird has a uniqueness to it that not a lot of other birds have in this challenge. Good luck in this challenge. |

Beauty in Decayby lytaComment by ergo: Beautiful details and colors. It's rating 8 for me here, and would have been higher but for three minor (but crucial) points: 1) the red on the left upper corner, which I think competes too much with the pretty purple and yellow tones, 2) the flare on the right hand side, and 3) the bit of green on the lower left, coupled with the visible strands of cobweb (?). |

Beauty in Decayby lytaComment by Bear_Music: Conceptually this is exceptionally nice, but there's a harsh garishness to it that isn't working that well for me. Also, the yellowish central portion of the image is out of critical focus, and yet that's the area our eyes are migrating to, so more DOF or focusing in a bit would have helped a lot here. The reddisha rea upper left is a real eyetrap also. This being advanced editing, it would have been easy to desaturate that area so it faded back a bit, and this would have been a plus. Still, a nice, strong image and a good score from me. |

Beauty in Decayby lytaComment by strangeghost: Absolutely breathtaking. I almost had to take a step back from the monitor. Quite a different take on a flower macro and so refreshing. The colors and textures are stunning. This is a marvelous accomplishment. I hope it finishes at least top 10. |
