Look, Mom!by nards656Comment by Melethia: I swore I commented on this one in voting, but apparently not. What may have hurt the score on this one is no apparent "jump" though if you ask me, jumping out of the tree is implied. The reds in the tree and shirt are nice, but the sky looks a bit oddly colored - sort of a gray/green rather than bluish. I do like the "open" space to the lower right - it encourages the idea that a "jump" is about to take place! |

Clicheby nards656Comment by jorr: I like the effect you created, and the colors work very well together, but in my opinion there really isn't any yellow, looks more like orange and red to me. I think if the lighter color had been a really strong bright lemon yellow you would have scored much higher. |

Clicheby nards656Comment by thomaspeople: Well I like it. There's a reason for cliche's. People like certain things and this type of shot is one of them.
There's a little junk in the glass at the top on the right, and a few curvy areas in the stem and at the very top that probably distracted the voters. The one thing I've noticed about these types of images is that the really good ones are near perfect symmetry. The lines are straight, the sides balance each other perfectly etc. I couldn't do it. But then take a look at my yellow entry, then take this comment with a grain of salt :)
Nice job. |

Clicheby nards656Comment by eschelar: I just looked at just the top third/half and it looks like a face with Rasta (Ganja) eyes and a MONSTER afro. This could have been an interesting variant...
I think the glass is your greatest obstacle in this pic. When I did my first glass picture, I was surprised at how low the quality is in glassware. Man, when is Canon going to come out with some L series goblets, snifters and other assorted wine glasses? |

Clicheby nards656Comment by JH: Nice use of lines and reflections/refractions, good composition. Works well as a vertical layout, which helps to draw the eye along the stem of the glass, and follow that line from top to bottom.
It'd be good if the yellow was just a little bit brighter, and a bit... yellower! |

Clicheby nards656Comment by Cooz: Good shot...
Only reason your score is lower than others that have done this is that the red draws the attention away from the yellow and the yellow actually looks a little orange...other than that it is well composed and shot |

Clicheby nards656Comment by olddj: My opinion, the yellow is too orange in tint for some (know that different monitors see differently) and the upper left of the goblet dissappears, blending right in with the background, losing all definition, so for me that would detract from scoring well.

Clicheby nards656Comment by timfythetoo: I think I would have liked to see the yellow a bit more yellow as well. I too liked the way the curve of the bottom of the glass dissipated into the picture. I think, for me, the colors just werent as pleasing to the eye as they might have been. |
