Probably too bright to take this one. Not a real good way to correct this with camera or pshop settings. about ten minutes later, this would be a really great shot.

the glare from the sun is just too much to overcome, no matter how hard you try your eyes always go back to the glare at the top.

I think this would look sweet if it was more of a silhouette with just the kid and highlights of the water. The sun seems too blown out, but I guess you did that so the kid wasn't too dark... Also, it doesn't look level.

Though I like this photo, the sun spot is too much for me and I also don't see negative space. I see space around the main subject but it's composed of various different objects and too compartmentalised to be just negative space. I appreciate this is according to my own definitions of neg space and your mileage may vary.
