public transportby k4ffyComment by brownsm: don't care for the magenta cast. with the right white balance this would have been stronger. i like the juxtaposition of the taxi and the bus. |

glowby k4ffyComment by yakatme: I agree with the previous two comments. The main subject that I want to land upon is the distant city with the red glow, but the foreground buildings keep bringing my eyes back to them and that's not the 'pretty' part of the image. The tallest building interrupts the nicest part of the image which extends to the left of that building. So, to frame the center part of the shot with the tall building (or just part of it) framing the left side would improve this shot a lot. Maybe if you could just hop over to the next roof in the center or to the one on the right (it's closer) and compose the shot from there ;)
BTW, good idea for a nighttime shot. I think you have a great area to work with. edit spellingMessage edited by author 2008-02-08 11:21:08. |

glowby k4ffyComment by Prism: I like the angle of the shot. Perhaps try a closer crop that removes the road and the building on the right, leaving the group of three main buildings on the left. I would also crop the top down to just below the dotted lights over the tallest building. This gives them more impact, IMHO. To me, the sky also seems to have some artifacting happening that shows some brush strokes? Maybe a little more digital noise removal or a guassian blur to smooth that out. |

glowby k4ffyComment by FireBird: I wish the glow were a larger component of the composition. I do love the red glow. I find the slightly over exposed windows and roadway in the foreground distracting. I think to make this work you'd have to find another vantage point, probably in another building. Perhaps on one of the middle floors of the bldg in the middle. Shoot for a composition with the tall building on the left filling the left frame with the glow and far buildings mirrored in the water. Just a thought. |

glowby k4ffyComment by Venom: I love night / cityscape shots. This is similar to one of my photos; high vantage point, night-time, skyscrapers on the horizon. Your coloring is great here, nice job. -BB |

glowby k4ffyComment by VitaminB: I have always liked city shots from the top of buildings. |
