Hi there,
I'm here to critique your High contrast shot.
There's not much to complain about. No things that I would have done different if it were my shot.
So why didn't it score you usual score is the question to be answerd I guess.
Well, when this photo opened up, I saw that it was a headlight (even without the title)
I think that it is just not so visual appealing as some other photo's in this cahllenge.
I realy like the reflections, and the repetation in the galss.
But I guess Tammer nailed what I am thinking, it's just not WOW enough.
I didn't score this photo, but I guess if I did I would have given it a 6.
It meets the challenge well, it's nice and crisp, it's well done. Only the subject is a bit less attractive as some others.

But hey, if you don't try....

I like this dramatic lighting. I think there is too much darkness at the top, possibly needed some cropping. Love the way you caught the light in your subjects eye. Well done.

This good photo has all the makings of a great photo, but stops a little short. Technically it's wonderful. sharp details, rich colours, lots of depth.

As an abstract/macro, I think a slightly tighter crop would work a little better. the background elements make me look for more context that isn't really available. As a 'shoe' shot, a slightly wider crop would give me the context I need to place them in their environment.

I love the diagonals, and I love the contrast. Overall a solid entry.

ps as a sidebar to your processing notes...why use levels AND curves (since both do the same thing). obviously not a criticism...I'm just interested.
